On Board The Luang Say Cruise
With a capacity for 40 people seated in comfortable chairs and benches, the Luang Say motorized riverboat is 112 ft long with a steel hull for strength and safety. Each seat has an open-air view of the spectacular passing scenery. There are coffee tables with magazines to read during your cruise, while the central section of the boat has bench seats, making this a perfect spot to share your Mekong stories or to have lunch.
The Crew And The Safety Facilities On Board
The crew includes a captain, a qualified mechanic, a boat boy, and an English-speaking guide who will answer your questions and point out the many sights of interest along the way. Life jackets are available in a variety of sizes for adults and children and there are rails around the sides of the boat for passenger safety.
Lunch On Board
A buffet lunch is served on board, carefully prepared to introduce you to Laotian cuisine and its typical flavors. Water, tea, and coffee are complimentary during the cruise on the Mekong but there is also a bar, complete with rattan bar stools, serving wine, beer, spirits, and soft drinks, which can be purchased. All meals are included in the price of the cruise, and special meal requests can be catered for with advance notice.
The Luang Say Lodge, Pakbeng
Backed by mountainous jungle, the Luang Say Lodge sits peacefully above the Mekong River, blending into the natural environment through careful landscaping, raised platforms, and indigenous styling. It comprises 20 large bungalows; each is tastefully furnished in dark-toned wood and white fabrics and offers stunning panoramic views of the Mekong River and the mountains. Showcasing a traditional Laotian architectural design, each room is fitted with comfortable beds, mosquito nets, and a ceiling fan. Each private en-suite bathroom has a hot shower. Wooden walkways through the lovely gardens link all of the rooms to the central restaurant and bar area. Food And Drink At The Lodge
A buffet dinner of fine, traditional Lao food, with vegetables organically grown in the gardens of The Lodge or in the local villages, is served at the riverbank restaurant. The Lodge has a fully equipped bar serving soft drinks, beer Lao and spirits for purchase. In the morning, Continental breakfast will be served.
